Dr. Roger Adams, CEO/President
The pursuit and application of knowledge is a driving force in Dr. Adams life. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Adams completed two separate dental specialty training programs, Oral Pathology (MS - Washington University) and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (Mayo Clinic) as well as a fellowship in Radiology at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. Dr. Adams added business to his professional foundation by completing an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Adams maintained a private maxillofacial surgery practice and oral pathology laboratory for 15 years in Salt Lake City, was the VP of Professional Relations & Business Development for Anthem BCBS Dental & Vision Specialty Company from 1997-2003 and the VP of Business Development for Dental Select from 2003 to present.
The National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) awarded Dr. Adams with the 2004 Gabryl Award, its highest honor, for the lifetime achievements of NADP volunteers whose service involves years of outstanding work. As Chairman of the NADP Board of Directors, Dr. Adams is credited with opening the doors of communication between NADP and the American Dental Association (ADA).
Dr. Adams is Co-Founder and CEO/President of Sealants for Smiles, a Utah nonprofit corporation providing oral health education and dental sealants to low-income children in Title I elementary schools. As a result of Dr. Adams' vision and leadership, Sealants for Smiles was awarded 501(c)(3) public charity status in January, 2008 and increased the services provided to low-income children by more than 300% from the previous year with only a 10% increase in cash budget.

Michaele has worked in dental programs and private practice in Utah and Nevada for over 14 years. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University. Michaele served as Treasurer and President Elect for the Northern Nevada Dental Hygienists Association. In addition, she lead the web presence redesign for the Nevada Dental Hygiene Association, helping to join and coordinate the Northern, Southern and State divisions. She is currently a Delegate for the Utah Dental Hygiene Association and an advocate for the ADHA.
Michaele is passionately driven to improve and provide oral health education to the general public and within the dental community. She has actively volunteered many hours toward community service including with the Red Cross, youth leadership, and oral health programs. It is during one of these volunteer activities that Michaele became involved with Sealants for Smiles. Seeing her interest and passion, Sealants for Smiles brought Michaele on board as a coordinator during their first major expansion. As a member of Sealants for Smiles, Michaele has worked to improve the efficiency and quality of services provided to Utah's underserved children.
Lisa Cannon, Coordinator
Growing up in a family involved in dentistry, Lisa has always been interested and passionate about oral health. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2006 and attended Dixie State College of Utah where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. While working in private practice has been a satisfying challenge for Lisa, she discovered a greater satisfaction working in a public health atmosphere and in serving the community as a whole. She has been involved with Sealants for Smiles since 2007, which has driven her passion for reaching out and helping underserved populations.
In 2009 she began working as a coordinator for Sealants for Smiles and currently leads one of our teams. She also has enjoyed volunteering and has been involved in serving in programs such as Utah Give Kids A Smile and the Junior League C.A.R.E. Fair events. She hopes to further her education soon and plans on pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health.
